I was surfing and reading in some of my favorite blogs, and in one of them I found something priceless. In the Voice of the DBA Blog, maintained by the Big SQL Server Name Steve Jones (read SQL Server Central too) I saw a sweet mention about me.
Do you guys can imagine what is this for me ? I grew up on SQL Server reading and studying SQL Server Central (and I do this almost every day) and the BIG NAME behind that AWESOME site (in my opinion the best site for SQL Server in the world) saying about me.
When I think on SSC, a LOT of memories come to my head. It was in there that my first script, to test linked servers using PowerShell, was published. Steve Jones gave this opportunity for me.
Every article that is published in Simple-Talk, Steve Jones link it on SSC.If I need some help to share my work to the SQL Server Community, Steve Jones do it for me. Me..a simple guy from Brazil. It is surreal for me sometimes.
When I was in the SQLBITS9 and Karla said to me, “Steve is coming” I was quite excited because I was going to meet…. Steve Jones. And When I saw the colored shirt,I grabbed my camera, my book SQL Server Central and went to meet him. What lovely guy. Finally I met one of my gurus (and lately some others in SQLBITS9)
And Now..I saw my picture and my name on the Voice of the DBA Blog. This is priceless. This kind of stuff I will take with me for my entire life ,like my name in guest posts on SQLAuthority – (another BIG NAME like Pinal Dave is always caring with me) or all the other mentions about my work. Every single mention that I found, it is a honor for me.
But every time that I see my name o SSC or mentioned by great people as Steve Jones, it is a HUGE HONOR , and I will always be grateful for that.
It is not the knowledge that impress me . It is the humility that guys like Steve and many others from the #SQLFamily has. Even because all these people has a LOT of knowledge. It is a characteristic from the humble people.
Well, that is guys, in a Sunday night, I found something that made may day, week, month, year heheheh.
And I have the book heheheh , it is in my “do not touch library” along the book from Pinal, Mladen and Fabiano Amorim (all signed of course)
